We currently have an opening for a R2R Accountant based in Exeter. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of £45,000 - £52,000 per year plus excellent benefits.
About the role
The Record to Report (R2R) Accountant oversees the record-to-report process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the integrity of financial statements. The role requires leadership, technical accounting expertise, and a thorough understanding of financial processes.
What you'll be doing:
1. Oversee the end-to-end record-to-report process, including capital accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
2. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
3. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to deliver accurate financial statements on time.
4. Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by team members.
5. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for reporting and analysis.
7. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key insights and variances.
8. Manage and mentor a team of accountants, guiding on complex accounting issues and professional growth.
9. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the R2R function.
10. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
What we are looking for:
* Financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
* Extensive experience in accounting, especially in record-to-report processes
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
* Proven leadership skills with team management experience
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including process improvement
* Strong communication skills for presenting financial information clearly
* Proficiency in accounting software
