Quantity Surveyor – The Company
A well-established and growing regional main contractor delivering new build social housing projects across South Wales is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor.
The business has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential developments for housing associations and local authorities, with projects ranging from smaller schemes through to larger multi-phase developments. With a strong forward order book and long-term client relationships, they offer genuine job security and the chance to be part of a stable and successful commercial team.
Quantity Surveyor – The Role
This is an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial management of new build social housing projects from procurement through to final account. You will work closely with the commercial lead, site teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently.
Typical duties and responsibilities include:
* Commercial management of new build social housing projects
* Subcontractor procurement and preparation of subcontract packages
* Measurement and preparation of valuations
* Cost reporting and cost value reconciliation
* Managing subcontractor payments and variations
* Attending site and client meetings
* Supporting the delivery team to ensure strong commercial performance
* Preparation and agreement of final accounts
Quantity Surveyor – The Person
* Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
* Background delivering construction projects (social housing experience beneficial)
* Strong commercial awareness and good communication skills
* Able to manage subcontractors and maintain accurate cost control
* Based within a commutable distance of South Wales
