Join to apply for the Senior Machine Learning Scientist role at Nory.
Let’s fix hospitality, for good. Hospitality is tough – margins are thin, waste is high, and teams are stretched. That’s why we built Nory, an all‑knowing restaurant management system that blends real‑time data with AI predictive analytics to give operators control of their margins. From food prep to forecasting, it’s operational intelligence that helps restaurants run with consistency, certainty, and profit. We’ve grown to 70+ people across Ireland, the UK, and Spain and are now looking for a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join our Data team.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Own the full ML lifecycle: from problem formulation and algorithm design through to deployment, monitoring, and iteration in production.
* Apply strong classical ML thinking and pick the right tool, justifying your choices.
* Keep models alive by building monitoring into every deployment (drift detection, retraining, KPI tracking) so models continue to deliver value.
* Collaborate deeply with product managers, engineers, and designers to define KPIs, design data flows, and embed ML into product features.
* Focus on outcomes – profitability, efficiency, waste reduction – rather than only technical metrics.
* Contribute to culture: share learnings, give feedback, and help raise the bar for applied ML at Nory.
What You’ll Bring
* Background: Master’s Degree or higher in a STEM subject with a significant statistics component.
* Full Lifecycle Ownership: 4+ years of experience taking ML systems from idea to production in a commercial setting.
* Classical ML theory depth: familiarity with time‑series forecasting, regression/classification, causal signals, feature engineering, evaluation/monitoring, and drift.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong Python, ML libraries (Scikit‑learn, Pandas, LightGBM), and working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and data tools (Snowflake, DBT, Omni).
* Rigour & Impact: Demonstrated ability to drive measurable business outcomes with rigorous statistical and experimental thinking.
* Collaboration: Thrive in highly collaborative environments, communicate clearly, and help improve team outcomes.
* Startup mindset: Move quickly, take initiative, maintain momentum, resolve issues efficiently, and handle ambiguity.
Nice‑to‑Have
* Worked in smaller data teams with a high ownership culture.
* Experience on B2B SaaS products.
* Experience with LLMs (not required – this role focuses on forecasting, optimization, and statistical learning).
What You’ll Get in Return
* Meaningful equity – everyone at Nory is an owner.
* 35 days of paid leave per year (including bank holidays).
* Comprehensive private health insurance via Irish Life (Ireland) and Axa (UK).
* Enhanced parental leave and baby loss support.
* Learning & development culture – €1,000 personal annual budget + quarterly book budget.
* €250 home office workspace budget.
* Regular team offsites & socials.
* Offices in London (LABS House, 15‑19 Bloomsbury Way) or Dublin (Dogpatch Labs, The Chq Building, Custom House Quay, North Wall).
* And much more.
