We are seeking an Indo-Pacific Security Analyst to provide strategic assessments on security dynamics, military developments, and geopolitical trends across the Indo-Pacific region. This part-time consulting role requires expertise in regional security architecture, defense cooperation frameworks, and the strategic competition shaping the world's most consequential theater. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Analyze security developments across the Indo-Pacific region, including military modernization, force posture, and strategic initiatives Assess regional alliance structures (AUKUS, Quad) and bilateral defense partnerships Monitor maritime security issues, including South China Sea disputes, Taiwan Strait tensions, and freedom of navigation operations Evaluate defense cooperation programs, joint exercises, arms transfers, and interoperability initiatives Provide strategic analysis on regional power dynamics, including U.S.-China competition and rising middle powers Track defense spending trends, military capability development, and strategic doctrine evolution across the region Advise clients on security risks, defense market opportunities, and strategic positioning in the Indo-Pacific ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Security Studies, International Relations, or Asian Studies Professional experience with think tanks, or defense industry Regional expertise in specific countries (Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, Southeast Asian nations) Language proficiency in English, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, or Southeast Asian languages Knowledge of naval operations, amphibious warfare, and maritime strategy Experience analyzing defense technology proliferation, missile defense systems, or nuclear deterrence Published research on Indo-Pacific security topics Security clearance (active or ability to obtain) Former military service with Indo-Pacific operational experience Former diplomatic or NGO service in the region ________________________________________ Compensation Structure $125-175/hour: Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years relevant regional analysis experience $175-225/hour: Advanced degree with 10-15 years experience, published research, or regional language proficiency ________________________________________ Work Arrangement Schedule: Flexible part-time hours (project-based consulting) Location: Remote work available Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on qualifications, clearance level, and experience ________________________________________ How to Apply Interested candidates should submit their resume, a cover letter highlighting relevant Indo-Pacific security expertise, expected hourly rate based on qualifications, and any relevant publications or analysis samples.
