Overview
To support the HR Training Delivery team in the development and the delivery of training courses and assessment of employee competence to ensure the operational safety and capability of colleagues across the business, satisfying both current and future strategic needs of the business.
The role involves developing course content mapped onto recognised water industry frameworks, designing and sourcing learning solutions, delivering training and competence assessments, and working with stakeholders to ensure training remains fit for purpose and compliant with regulatory requirements. Training delivery will be predominantly at Leigh and Bolton Training Centres, with travel across the region including satellite locations at Kendal and Carlisle. You will also collaborate with the Learning Systems Specialist to build blended learning solutions, gather feedback, and review training approaches with Health and Safety Partners and Subject Matter Experts.
Produce lesson plans, schemes of work, assessment criteria and learning outcomes for internally delivered training and assessment programmes, and assist the H&S Training Specialist in reviewing H&S procedures, policies, GRAs and guidance notes. Manage, record and develop own CPD in area of technical specialism and teaching/assessment practice.

Responsibilities
* Demonstrable industry experience in discipline/skills/tasks relevant to H&S training delivery requirements (e.g., Emergency First Aid, Safe Working at Height, Confined Space Entry).
* Deliver training and assess competence to ensure employees have role-specific and task-specific technical knowledge and practical skills, in line with regulatory, statutory and legislator guidance and requirements.
* Develop course content mapped onto recognised frameworks and design/supply learning solutions that support training curriculums.
* Conduct training delivery at specified locations and travel as required across the region.
* Collaborate with Health and Safety Business Partners and SMEs to review existing training solutions and develop new ones for future needs.
* Produce lesson plans, schemes of work, assessment criteria and learning outcomes for internally-delivered training and assessment programs.
* Assist the H&S Training Specialist in reviewing H&S procedures, policies, GRAs and guidance notes.
* Proactively obtain employee feedback to evaluate and review training effectiveness and take remedial action as needed.
Qualifications
* Recognised qualification in H&S practice (NEBOSH or equivalent).
* Experience of teaching/training delivery and assessment of competence.
* Knowledge and experience of developing, monitoring and assessing technical knowledge, skills and competence.
* The ability to develop content to match immediate and future business needs, utilising existing knowledge and research.
* A comprehensive working knowledge of the technical and health and safety requirements and expectations of specific roles and processes across UU.
* Working knowledge of competence frameworks within UU.
* Self-motivated with the ability to communicate well with field staff and management; ability to communicate with employees of all experience levels.
* Ability to manage own workload, work within tight timescales and meet business expectations.
