I am supporting a fantastic and reputable accountancy firm who are looking for an Accounts Manager for this hybrid position on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover) in their Shoreditch offices (3 days in, 2 remote). This is a brilliant opportunity to join a growing and forward-thinking team where you'll take ownership of a varied client portfolio and play a key role in delivering high-quality compliance and business services work. You'll work closely with Partners and senior leadership while also helping to guide junior team members. The Role: This is a hybrid position (London-based), offered as a 12-month FTC. You'll be stepping into an established role with excellent internal support and a clear handover. Duties Solid experience managing a portfolio of SME clients Review of statutory accounts (FRS 102 Section 1A) and management accounts Confidence supervising and developing junior team members Strong working knowledge of Xero (Silverfin and Caseware experience is a bonus) Proven experience liaising with HMRC and other external bodies Ability to support on Making Tax Digital (MTD), including upcoming changes from July 2026 Commercial awareness and confidence to help spot opportunities or process improvements Experience in FRS101/IFRS is desirable but not essential Responsibilities: Planning, prioritising, and allocating client work for timely delivery Reviewing accounts and tax work within scope and agreed budgets Actively managing WIP, workflow and ensuring timely billing Acting as a primary point of contact for your client base Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless service Supporting business development and sector-specific growth Leading client meetings and ensuring excellent communication and service levels This role is perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy, has a collaborative mindset, and thrives in a supportive yet ambitious team environment.
