Care Assistant / Support Worker
Location: Minehead
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to clients in a residential, nursing, or home care setting. You will support individuals with their daily living activities, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and well‑being at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Support clients with mobility, transfers, and safe use of equipment.
* Administer medication under supervision, following care plans and health & safety procedures.
* Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
* Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well‑being, reporting any changes to senior staff.
* Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
* Promote independence and encourage social engagement.
* Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment.
* Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable adults.
Skills & Qualifications
* Previous experience in care or support work preferred but not always essential.
* Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Awareness of health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding practices.
* Basic understanding of medication administration (training can be provided if required).
