Role: Quality Assurance Manager Location: South Kirkby Salary: £45,000pa - £50,000pa Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am-3.30pm About the Role: Our rapidly expanding client is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable Quality Assurance Manager to join their team in South Kirkby. You will lead and manage their quality assurance function across the entire production process. This key role ensures that all products consistently meet internal standards, customer expectations and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in food safety and quality management systems. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for leading the Quality Control team, driving continuous improvement initiatives and working closely with other internal teams to uphold and enhance product quality, safety and consistency. Key Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager: Design, implement and maintain robust quality assurance systems to ensure all products consistently meet internal standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations for quality and safety. Oversee compliance with food safety regulations and customer specifications, proactively identifying and addressing risks to maintain high standards across all operations. Drive initiatives focused on enhancing product quality, operational efficiency and yield. Use data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. Lead, support and develop the Quality Control team. Promote a strong quality focused culture through training, coaching and performance management. Coordinate and lead internal, external, customer and third party audits. Ensure readiness and compliance with all relevant quality and food safety standards. Maintain accurate records of quality activities including testing, non conformances, corrective actions and customer feedback. Provide clear, concise reports to senior leadership. Serve as the primary point of contact for quality related concerns, resolving customer complaints and addressing regulatory issues efficiently and effectively. Identify, assess and mitigate potential risks related to product quality and food safety through proactive monitoring and implementation of preventive measures. Skills / Experience required for the Quality Assurance Manager: Degree in Food Science, Meat/Animal Science or related discipline (essential). HACCP, SQF or equivalent quality management certifications (desirable). At least 5 years' proven track record in quality assurance, food safety, or quality control within meat or food processing. Strong understanding of food safety legislation, QA methodologies and lean manufacturing principles. Hands on experience with HACCP, GMP and related food industry standards. Skilled in managing teams, resolving conflicts and promoting a culture of quality across functions. Strong problem solving and analytical ability; proficient in QC systems, Microsoft Office and relevant quality software. High standards in documentation, inspection and reporting accuracy.
