Robert Half (an S&P 500 global staffing firm) is supporting a major consulting partner in sourcing an experienced Network Security Consultant to deliver a deep dive review of enterprise firewall configurations. The role focuses on hands-on rule base analysis, segmentation validation, and alignment to internal and CIS-level security standards for a high-profile client environment.
Assignment Details
* Initial Duration: 6 months
* Location: Hybrid with occasional UK on-site visits in Buckinghamshire
* Day Rate: £600 to £650 per day via FCSA accredited umbrella company
* Start Date: ASAP
Key Skills and Experience
* Banking experience is required
* Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls such as Palo Alto or Check Point
* Proven ability to analyse complex rule bases, objects, NAT, ACLs and security zones
* Solid understanding of TCP IP, routing, segmentation and secure network design
* Experience reviewing and benchmarking configurations against CIS standards
* Comfortable producing clear findings, evidence and remediation guidance
* Panorama or SmartConsole experience preferred
* Background in large scale or regulated environments beneficial
Role Overview
You’ll conduct a detailed configuration review across multiple firewalls, identifying misconfigurations, unused rules, risky patterns and optimisation opportunities. The engagement is fully technical and focused on improving the current state rather than policy redesign or TOM work. You’ll produce a clear findings report and guide remediation activities alongside the client’s network teams.
