Are you an experienced and passionate leader in Children’s social work? Sandwell Children’s Trust is seeking skilled Team Managers to join our Child Protection and Court Teams, driving positive change for children and families in Sandwell within the context of the national reforms. This is a fixed-term role until March 2026, providing an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a defined period.
About the Role:
As a Team Manager: Child Protection and Court Team, you will lead a dedicated team of social workers, ensuring high-quality child protection and court work practice and contribute to shaping the role of lead child protection practitioners. You will provide expert guidance, effective decision-making, and strong leadership to improve outcomes for children and their families. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively with professionals, families, and legal representatives will be crucial in delivering outstanding support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee complex child protection, PLO and court proceedings, ensuring robust, timely, and effective interventions for children and their families.
* Provide leadership, supervision, and support to social workers, uplifting practice standards and driving service improvements.
* Build strong multi-agency partnerships and advocate for the needs of children and families within court settings.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices, maintaining excellence in service delivery.
* Promote a culture of learning, development, and continuous improvement within the team.
About You:
* A minimum of 5 full years post qualification experience, with substantial frontline child protection practice experience.
* Experienced in child protection and court work, with a thorough understanding of legal processes and safeguarding frameworks.
* A motivational leader, able to inspire your team and drive excellence in practice.
* Exceptional communication skills, confident in liaising with courts, legal professionals, and multi-agency partners.
* Passionate about making a real difference for children and families, ensuring high-quality interventions and positive outcomes.
This is a fixed-term role until March 2026, providing a great opportunity to lead and influence service improvements while safeguarding vulnerable children.
