Senior Employment Solicitor – Top Tier Leading Legal 500 Firm

Salary: up to £70,000 dependent on experience
The Opportunity
A leading national law practice is seeking a highly experienced employment solicitor to join its Employment, Pensions & Immigration (EPI) team to work primarily with health care sector clients. This senior position offers the chance to lead complex employment law, manage high-value client relationships, and play a key role in mentoring junior lawyers.
This role offers the chance to advise a portfolio of high-profile organisations across the UK, including some of the country’s largest and most respected employers. The successful candidate will join the Manchester office, currently comprising three Partners, two Principal Associates, one Associate and a Trainee. Recognised in the leading legal directories, the team has strong ambitions for further growth and offers excellent prospects for career development.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a broad range of employment matters, including unfair dismissal, grievances, discrimination, industrial relations, tribunal litigation, and equal pay. Responsibilities will include:
* Providing strategic legal advice to clients on contentious and non-contentious employment issues.
* Leading and supervising junior fee-earners.
* Preparing tribunal bundles, witness statements, and other legal documents.
* Delivering training, writing thought-leadership content, and contributing to business development.
* Meeting client service levels, managing reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
The Candidate
* Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience in employment law.
* Strong technical expertise and exceptional attention to detail.
* Proven leadership, communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Advocacy experience and tribunal litigation skills are highly desirable.
* Sector-specific experience in healthcare is advantageous but not essential.
