Responsibilities
An exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised School Nurse Assistant to join the Calderdale 5–19 Public Health Nursing Service to support the delivery of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).
This role involves supporting the measurement and data collection of Reception and Year 6 pupils across Calderdale schools, engaging with children, families and schools to ensure safe, accurate and sensitive delivery of NCMP.
* Support the delivery of the National Child Measurement Programme in primary schools
* Accurately measure children’s height and weight following national guidance
* Record and manage data in line with information governance and confidentiality requirements
* Prepare equipment and ensure infection prevention and control standards are met
* Provide reassurance and promote a positive experience for children and schools
* Work collaboratively with school staff and the wider 5–19 team
* Assist with administration, including SMS, data entry and follow-up processes
* Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with policy and governance requirements
* Contribute positively to service development and continuous improvement
* Be able to travel to a range of school sites across Calderdale, essential for this role

* Comfortable working in school environments and travelling across Calderdale
* Literate and numerate with basic IT skills
Experience & Background
* Experience working with children or young people (health, education or community setting)
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to follow protocols and work to national standards
* Flexibility to meet service needs (including school-based working and travel)
* Knowledge of the National Childhood Measurement Programme
