A client within the Public Sector based in Bristol is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer – Housing Repairs & Maintenance to join their Housing & Landlord Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing and construction health & safety environment. The Role Key purpose of the role to ensure health and safety standards are met and maintained across the Housing & Landlord Services Repairs & Maintenance Service. The role will focus on ensuring safe working environments for staff, contractors and residents, while carrying out audits, inspections and advising on compliance with legislation and best practice. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Acting as a critical friend to delivery teams and contractors, challenging and advising on performance to ensure high safety standards. Undertaking audits and inspections of construction sites, contractor activities, and mobile workplaces (vehicles) to verify compliance with legislative requirements. Providing professional advice and assurance in relation to construction health & safety and the CDM Regulations 2015.
