Overview
1 Post - Part Time 22 1/2 hrs (£17,113 per annum) Willowford House, Gwaelod y Garth, Tonteg CF15 9HJ. Night Residential Child Care Practitioner (NRCCP) based at Willowford House. Night shifts are typically worked between 10.30pm and 7.30am with Night Enhancement payable. You will be part of a caring team, led and supported by an experienced Registered Manager and Senior staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide emotional, physical and personal care and support for children and young people.
* Work creatively with a high level of active engagement in activities and direct work.
* Practice in a therapeutic environment, utilizing the Trauma Recovery Model of care.
* Support children and young people to reach their full potential, sometimes in challenging situations, and be responsive to issues outside the home.
* Travel independently as needed for the role.
* Spend much of the role supporting individuals throughout the night.
* Occasionally coordinate with services such as Police, Health and the Emergency Duty Team, with support from a staff member when dealing with urgent situations.
* Prepare the home for the following day, including general household tasks such as cleaning, ironing or cooking.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Be committed to improving the lives of children with complex needs and those who have experienced childhood trauma.
* Demonstrate patience, compassion, empathy and the ability to build trusting relationships.
* Be prepared to work shifts, including bank holidays, weekends, and sleep-in duties.
* Be prepared to work at other residential locations to support other homes within the local authority as needed to meet service needs.
* Hold or work towards the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or predecessor NVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People).
* Be registered with Social Care Wales on appointment or after completion of the Induction Framework.
Training and Professional Development
Our offer includes a dedicated in-house Learning and Development Centre with full funding for the necessary training and support to undertake the role. If you do not hold the relevant qualification, you will be supported to achieve the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) within 2 years of appointment.
