Job Description:

Job purpose

We are seeking a motivated and charismatic individual to join our admissions team on a full-time basis. This role will primarily focus on student recruitment, particularly engaging with prospective students from countries in Africa and the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have sales experience, be willing to travel to African and Middle Eastern countries regularly, and be fluent in Arabic, with fluency in other languages being desirable.

Beyond recruitment, this role involves maintaining strong relationships with the students you have recruited, as well as their families, once they join Ashbourne. The successful candidate will help ensure a consistent cohort of 25 students from Africa and the Middle East at the college while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.

About Ashbourne

Established over 40 years ago, Ashbourne is one of the top private colleges for A levels in the UK, distinguished by exam results, individual attention, and facilities. It aims to be the best college overall for A levels in the UK.

Ethos and culture

At Ashbourne, there are no uniforms, no assemblies, no school dinners, and relations between teachers and students are informal, vital, and strong. Small classes encourage engagement and relationships. The college is selective, reserving the right to deny progression from year 12 to year 13 if academic standards are not met. All students are expected to work hard and aim high.

About the College

Sixth form college – Most students choose Ashbourne for a more mature approach to education, with more freedom and responsibility, leaving behind traditional school routines.

Academic performance – Consistently among the top private colleges in London and within the top 5% for value-added performance.

Individual attention – Supported by small class sizes and personal tutors monitoring academic progress and well-being.

Welfare – Supportive environment with strict policies against bad behaviour and bullying.

Location – Near Kensington Gardens, within easy reach of London's cultural opportunities.

Ashbourne community – Diverse with 70% British and up to 50 different nationalities, offering a wide range of subjects and extracurricular activities.

Academic opportunities – Wide range of subjects from arts and humanities to sciences and economics.

Extra-curricular opportunities – Including Model United Nations, Astrophysics, and arts performances.

Intensive courses – Two-year A level courses, with options for one-year and eighteen-month courses starting in January.

Scholarships – Generous programs supporting outstanding students, especially in music and drama.

Happiness – Supportive student community with no cliques or snobbery.
