Introduction
We are partnering with a well-established organisation seeking a Freelance Performance Marketing Lead to take ownership of digital acquisition strategy and execution. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who can not only optimise campaigns but also provide leadership, direction, and strategic oversight across performance marketing channels.
The Role
This role is ideal for an experienced performance marketer ready to step up into a lead position, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You will be responsible for shaping and executing paid media strategy, driving measurable growth, and ensuring alignment with broader commercial objectives.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, leading on performance marketing initiatives, guiding best practice, and ensuring campaigns are delivering maximum ROI. Alongside execution, you’ll play a key role in mentoring team members and influencing decision-making through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities include:
• Leading the audit, strategy, and optimisation of existing paid media campaigns to unlock growth opportunities
• Owning the planning, execution, and scaling of campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager
• Defining and managing budget allocation, forecasting, and performance targets
• Driving a test-and-learn culture through structured A/B and multivariate testing across creatives, audiences, and landing pages
• Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on key performance metrics, ensuring alignment with business KPIs
• Translating complex data into clear strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders
• Collaborating cross-functionally with CRM, content, and product teams to improve conversion and customer journeys
• Providing leadership and guidance to internal teams, setting best practices across performance marketing
• Evaluating and implementing new tools, platforms, and approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness
You – Skills & Experience:
• 4+ years’ experience in digital/performance marketing, with exposure to leading campaigns or teams
• Strong hands-on expertise across paid media channels, particularly Google Ads and Meta
• Proven experience developing and executing performance marketing strategies that drive growth
• Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of CAC, ROAS, LTV, and other key KPIs
• Advanced analytical skills with experience using data to influence strategic decisions
• Demonstrated experience leading testing and optimisation frameworks
• Confident engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members or cross-functional teams
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and delivering results under tight timelines
• Strong familiarity with CRM systems, CMS platforms, and marketing technology tools
• Able to work on-site 4 days per week in London
