A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an IRATA Level 1 or 2 Rope Access Technician to join our growing team in Scotland. You’ll play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of rail and civil engineering projects across the region, working within an established and supportive operational team.

The Role
You will form part of our operational delivery team, supporting asset management and maintenance works across the Scottish rail network. Working under direct supervision, you’ll help ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
General Duties
* Carry out basic site and civils tasks as instructed
* Attend site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety forums
* Sign onto permits and briefings before starting work
* Support skilled operatives and supervisors as required
* Follow safe working practices and conduct equipment pre‑use checks
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
* Use working time effectively to support project delivery
* Communicate clearly with site management and supervisors
* Report concerns, near misses, and safety observations promptly
Rope Access Operations
* Work under the supervision of a Level 3 Rope Access Technician
* Assist with rope access activities including access, positioning, and basic operational tasks
* Use rope access equipment correctly and safely
* Support inspection, maintenance, drilling, and installation works
* Assist with equipment setup, handling, and dismantling
* Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings
* Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping
Candidate Requirements
* IRATA Level 1 or 2 certification
* Experience in industrial, civil, or geotechnical environments
* Strong commitment to safety and continuous learning
* Good understanding of rope access systems and safety controls
* Ability to assist with rigging and rescue procedures
* Comfortable working at height and in challenging environments
* Effective communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility to support project needs, including work outside standard hours when required
