Brightwork are delighted to be supporting a key client in Carryduff, a large and well?established organisation with a strong operational footprint, as they recruit a Finance Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business during a period of substantial growth, offering a dynamic environment and a broad, hands?on finance role.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys ownership of core processes and wants to develop within a growing organisation.
The Role
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a range of operational finance activities, including:
Managing bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions, investigating and resolving discrepancies
Delivering end to end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance with legislation and timely payments
Preparing, reviewing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements and internal deadlines
Overseeing supplier payments and account maintenance, including payment runs, query resolution and maintaining effective supplier relationships
Producing cashflow reports, monitoring cash positions and providing clear analysis to support decision?making
Supporting the month?end close process, including journals, reconciliations and reporting
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the enhancement of processes and controls as the organisation continues to grow
About you
Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounting Technician or Senior Accounts Assistant role
Strong working knowledge of payroll, VAT and core accounting processes
AAT qualified, part qualified, or equivalent practical experience - support on offer to gain qualifiaction if not already
Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a wider finance function
Highly organised, detail focused and proactive
