The role
We’re working with a well-established secondary school in Northumberland to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils across KS3–KS5. The school offers a broad, knowledge-rich curriculum and a supportive culture where students are encouraged to engage, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
You’ll provide essential in-class and small-group support, working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to help pupils access learning and thrive socially and academically.

£90 – £110 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience

Key responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs
* Support teachers in delivering lessons that keep pupils engaged and on task
* Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and learning strategies
* Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and purposeful classroom environment
* Work closely with the SEN team and pastoral leads to monitor progress
The ideal candidate
* Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, tutoring, etc.)
* Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Confident supporting pupils with behaviour and learning needs
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
