Job Description The salary for this role is £56,596 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance- £7,647 ), and onsite working is expected for 3 days each week. This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions. The Role We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Services Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engineering support and technical expertise to the Power Distribution Group, enabling the effective operation, maintenance, and development of the Culham site’s power infrastructure and low voltage (LV) control systems. You will lead medium-scale work packages involving complex LV electrical equipment, modifications, and technical studies, managing projects from initial concept through to installation and operation. Your work will ensure full compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice, and you will be expected to operate at a level that allows you to authorise and supervise activities on electrical systems. If you are keen to take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of LV electrical systems, including the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment such as UPS units, generators, and automatic change-over systems, while ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, safety standards, and industry codes of practice, we would love to hear from you. Additional Responsibilities: Own and manage work packages and projects from concept to completion, ensuring technical, safety, and budgetary requirements are met; act as Project Engineer on projects within and beyond the Power Distribution Group. Provide technical expertise for fault finding, system enhancements, and problem solving; perform assurance activities through calculations, analysis, and review of existing electrical infrastructure using software tools and engineering principles. Develop and manage documentation including engineering procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and local rules to support safe and efficient operations. Supervise and support team members, including staff up to level 5, contractors, apprentices, and agency workers; contribute to training and development by mentoring and delivering technical instruction on systems within your area of expertise.
