Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor – Highways & Infrastructure Location: Site / Office-Based (with travel as required) Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 Package Are you a commercially minded Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor with experience in highways or infrastructure projects? A growing civil engineering contractor is seeking a motivated individual to support the commercial delivery of key infrastructure schemes across the region. About the Company Our client is a specialist groundworks, formworks, and civil engineering contractor with a strong track record across residential and commercial projects. As part of their strategic growth, they are now expanding into the infrastructure and highways sector, offering exciting opportunities for QS professionals to work on a new portfolio of technically challenging projects. Role Overview You will work alongside an experienced commercial team, supporting or managing cost planning, valuations, and subcontractor packages on highways and infrastructure projects. This role offers excellent long-term development and exposure to high-value, technically complex works. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts Support the commercial delivery of highways and infrastructure projects Manage subcontractor accounts and assist with procurement Monitor cost, risk, and cashflow across live schemes Attend site and client meetings as required Ensure contract compliance and maintain accurate project records What We’re Looking For Essential: Experience in a QS or Assistant QS role within civil engineering (ideally highways or infrastructure) Strong knowledge of construction contracts (NEC or similar) Good communication and organisational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard QS tools Full UK driving licence Desirable: Progressing toward a relevant qualification (HNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management) Experience with local authority or framework contracts What’s On Offer Competitive Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience) Full Package – includes benefits and travel expenses Supportive working environment with ongoing training and development Clear route to progression within a growing commercial team Looking to build your QS career on solid foundations in infrastructure delivery?
