Description
We are excited to announce we are now looking for a Lecturer in Sport to join our established reporting into the Head of Section. This is a part-time, permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
This role will allow you to deliver exciting and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard, whilst ensuring outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets are met. You will assume joint responsibility within course teams for the quality of course delivery and work with an agreed teaching load, to teach groups of students in one or more of the core programme areas.
This is an excellent opportunity to take full responsibility for course tutorship and encourage opportunities for learning, including work experience and enrichment. You will use your excellent communication and organisational skills to conduct a variety of diverse methods to meet all students learning requirements.
You will be teaching across Level 2 and 3 BTEC Sports Coaching, both the Certificate and the Diploma pathways. You will also be involved in the exciting enrichment and enhancement opportunities for the students, including Basketball and Football Fixtures. There is opportunity to be involved in a European Residential with the Diploma students to Spain. There is always scope in the role to carve out pathways and enrichment for students that aligns with your passions and skillset.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Previous academic experience in Sports would be fantastic, along with a recognised teaching qualification, (L5 or above). We will also consider someone who is willing to work towards obtaining this qualification and has experience of working in a Sports related role which would be relatable to the areas we teach. We are looking for individuals who can inspire our students with passion and enthusiasm.
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£30,583 - £46,263), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
Accepted Qualifications:
* DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* Certificate in Education
* PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
* DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
* DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£25,611 - £28,817).
Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:
* PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
