We're looking for a hands-on, technically strong Engineering Deployment Manager with a background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and proven experience in Automation projects, ideally including conveyor systems and robotics.
In this site-based role, you’ll work closely with the Technical Project Manager to deliver automation solutions—from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover—across Royal Mail sites.
About the Role
* Plan and manage the safe and timely deployment of automation projects.
* Coordinate stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
* Oversee plant layouts, installations, and disruption planning with operations teams.
* Lead site activities including safety, coordination, delivery, and compliance (CDM, PUWER, UKCA).
* Manage supplier performance, value for money, and commissioning.
* Support project reporting, trials, and launch plans.
About You
* Qualified Mechanical/Electrical/Automation engineer.
* Experienced in end-to-end site deployments and project delivery.
* Strong understanding of CDM regulations and site safety (SMSTS preferred).
* Skilled in MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD, and stakeholder communication.
* Mobile and flexible, with a proactive, team-oriented approach.
While primarily based at the Gloucester Manufacturing Facility, this role may require travel to Royal Mail or supplier sites across the UK and Northern Ireland. Collaboration with on-site teams is essential, though occasional remote working may be possible when appropriate.
