We are currently undergoing a major digital transformation, with new Finance and Stock systems launching on 1st April 2026 so an exciting time for someone to own the new ways of working.
Role Description
Reporting directly to the Finance Team, the Stock Controller is a brand-new, pivotal position created to lead our inventory management into a new era. With the launch of our new Finance and Stock systems on 1st April, this is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional to \"own the new world\" from day one.
This is not a warehouse \"pick and pack\" role; it is a systems-focused position centred on data integrity, process design, and reporting. Your primary objective is to ensure the \"digital twin\" of our inventory perfectly matches reality. By establishing and maintaining absolute system accuracy, you will enable the Operations and Stores teams to fulfil orders with total confidence, provide Engineering with a reliable outlet for kit creation, and ensure the Finance team has a transparent, real-time view of stock value and asset recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Procurement Oversight
* Outline and monitor the rolling purchase and scheduling requirements to ensure stock levels meet demand without over-investing.
* Validate all \"Goods In\" receipts against booked inventory to ensure supplier delivery accuracy and financial alignment.
* Enforce First In, First Out (FIFO) protocols to ensure optimal stock rotation and minimise depreciation.
System Integrity & Kit Management
* Manage the end-to-end kit creation process, acting as the bridge between Engineering specifications and system reality.
* Own the \"Change Control\" process, managing component substitutions and End of Life (EOL) transitions to ensure orders remain accurate.
* Collaborate with Engineering on the device lifecycle to proactively manage and report on obsolescence risks.
Asset Recovery & Field Control
* Lead the stock control process for \"Goods in Field,\" working with partners to track, report, and recover high-value assets that have been sent but not installed.
* Manage the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and Warranty process, ensuring faulty goods are tracked, credited, or replaced without financial leakage.
Financial Compliance & Audit
* Execute regular stock take validations and reconciliations to ensure the system is a 100% accurate reflection of physical stores.
* Monitor and report on wastage and stock leakage, implementing processes to protect company assets.
* Ensure all stock movements comply with invoicing requirements, preventing billing delays or discrepancies.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Stock Control, Inventory Audit, or Data-driven Supply Chain role.
* Strong background in reporting, with the ability to provide clear financial insights into inventory performance.
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/Stock Management software.
* Experience with technical components (electronics/automotive) and Bill of Materials (BOM) is highly desirable.
* Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on \"system vs reality\" reconciliation.
* A background in Finance, Audit, or Warranty Management would be an advantage.
