This role requires a flexible and innovative Speech & Language Therapist to work within a dedicated Children's Speech and language therapy team and is committed to supporting children and families with communication difficulties. The Children's SLT team provides assessment, treatment and advice to children and young people aged 0-19. We work in partnership with families. other health professionals and colleagues in education to maintain a holistic approach for children in the Wakefield district. Main duties You will be required to work within clinic settings, mainstream schools. To provide and support with initial assessment clinics and offer assessment and therapy intervention for children with speech, language and communication needs. To undertake an assessment of the speech, language and communication needs of the child, and to develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care in line with the RCSLT policy. To promote high quality client-centred care ensuring clients are treated with dignity, equity and respect. To promote effective communication and support for clients, their families and carers. To communicate respectfully & effectively with parents/carers, colleagues & other professionals. To manage own workload which will be predominantly with the community clinic & /or school settings.
