Knowledge Lawyer Join our growing Learning & Development team. We are seeking technically excellent and strategically minded, insightful, and proactive Knowledge Lawyers to join our team, with specific responsibility for supporting and advancing our national teams across the following disciplines; Corporate, Commercial and Banking; Private Client; Dispute Resolution and Employment and also Real Estate. This is a key strategic and operational role that helps shape the quality, consistency, and efficiency of legal services delivery across the national business. You will be responsible for shaping and embedding best in class legal knowhow, supporting legal training enabling our fee earners to work more efficiently, consistently and collaboratively. You will lead on knowledge strategy, identify training and development requirements, manage internal precedents, and provide real-time legal insight. Working closely with fee earners, Business Services teams, and legal tech partners, you will help embed best practice, identify upskilling opportunities, and build resources that ensure excellence in client outcomes focused at all times on the business outcome of premium professional services delivery through speed of response, access to support and high quality timely and effective communication. The successful candidate will also support external thought leadership, co-deliver seminars to clients, maintain professional memberships, oversee the onboarding of new team members, manage the team's library resources, and lead knowledge and process engagement. Key responsibilities Legal and market insight – Tracking and interpreting legislative changes and market developments, ensuring the team remains well-informed and future-focused. Precedent management – Developing, maintaining, and enhancing internal templates, guides, drafting notes and checklists to support high-quality, consistent delivery. Library resource management – Overseeing and maintaining access to legal reference materials, databases, and journals relevant to the particular discipline. Ensuring all team members can locate and use key texts efficiently, and managing subscriptions or licensing as required. Team development and upskilling – Identifying skills gaps and delivering training, workshops, and legal briefings to meet current and future needs. Collaborating with Learning & Development as needed. Onboarding – Managing, maintaining and developing the team-specific onboarding programmes to embed legal, procedural and cultural expectations for new team members. Compliance and audit – Conducting regular file audits to ensure client work complies with operational standards, branding, process requirements and house style. Client insight and development – Working with Business Services colleagues to identify themes, co-create client seminar content, and help deliver sessions that showcase the team’s expertise and market understanding. Knowledge infrastructure – Supporting the development and application of systems that make legal knowledge easy to access, reuse, and build upon. Collaborating with the Management team to refine knowledge delivery. Professional memberships – Supporting the maintenance and value extraction from industry memberships, forums and networks. Cross-location leadership – Acting as a trusted and visible leader, able to unify and guide teams spread across 32 offices in embedding consistent legal, procedural and service standards. Collaboration and support – Acting as a strategic resource to the leadership team, advising on risks, trends, and opportunities to improve service and operations. Client Services Support – Ensuring that the teams’ capability on the website, Hub (intranet) and team collateral is complete, up to date and that all colleagues’ profiles are maintained. Working closely with colleagues to provide details of the teams’ sector expertise and capability for pitches and tenders as well as maintaining the teams’ library of client testimonials.
