Tourism Development Officer
Lisburn
Temporary (covering sickness)
The Client: Local Public body based in Lisburn, serving local residents.
Job Purpose:
As a member of the Economic Development Team the post holder will be required to support the Tourism Development Manager in the delivery of the tourism development strategy for the Council area and, where appropriate, manage, implement and monitor any associated projects arising from the strategy.
Essential Criteria:
Qualifications & Experience:
1. A third level qualification for example NVQ Level 4 or Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Marketing, Tourism or Business Studies
2. A minimum of three years employment experience in each of the following areas:
3. Assisting in the delivery of Tourism Development projects
4. Tourism marketing experience
5. Collation and presentation of financial information
6. Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined above, they must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years' experience as above
Knowledge:
7. Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
8. Practical understanding of the main issues and developments impacting on service delivery within Tourism
Skills:
9. Ability to present reports, information and concepts both orally and in writing in a timely and accurate format
10. Adaptable to change and a willingness to implement improved ways of working
11. Ability to use own initiative and to organise, plan and manage workload to deliver in a timely manner
General:
12. A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a car or have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post. Applies only to applicants who have a disability under the Disability Discrimination Act
Desirable Criteria:
13. A minimum of three years' relevant experience in the management of staff
Hours of work:
14. per week (Wednesday to Friday)
Rate of Pay:
15. £ per hour
