Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Goods In Operative to join their manufacturing team. The role involves ensuring incoming materials, components, and finished products meet quality and compliance standards, maintaining product integrity, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Load and unload delivery vehicles following H&S procedures.
* Check goods against delivery notes for accuracy and damages, complete paperwork.
* Perform quality checks on goods upon arrival.
* Move goods between departments using FLT or manual/electric pump trucks.
* Notify relevant departments of shortages.
* Coordinate with quality team on non-conformance issues.
* Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues.
* Book deliveries with suppliers.
* Record stock movements accurately, including stock for production.
* Collaborate to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
* Assist with stock takes and maintain warehouse housekeeping.
* Promote health and safety culture.
* Support continuous improvement across manufacturing and quality functions.
Skills and Qualifications
* Experience in goods in within manufacturing.
* FLT Licence and UK Drivers Licence.
* Ability to identify raw materials.
* Skilled with measuring equipment (callipers, micrometers, verniers).
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of non-conformance processes.
* Familiarity with ERP systems like Business Central.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
* Strong communication skills with a proactive approach.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 standards; auditing experience is a plus.
Desirable Qualifications
* NACE, FROSIO, or ICorr Level 1 certifications.
* Paint inspection qualifications.
