We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our committed team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education, helping them re-engage with learning and develop the skills and confidence to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students aged between 6-18 with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Assist the class teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing learning activities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students manage their behaviour and stay focused
Help implement individual education and behaviour plans
Foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment
Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, preferably in a PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision setting
A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Relevant qualifications (, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach training - desirable but not essential)
