The Role
The role of the Senior Manager is to lead and drive all aspects of Technology Consulting programs, including new implementations, optimisations, technology‑led diagnostics, technology partner relations, as well as lead the technology workstream for wider transformations, diagnostics, and outsourcing service implementations.
The Senior Manager has accountability for technology partners, clients, and projects beginning at the onset of a prospective engagement and mobilisation through to completion of projects, responsible for high‑quality delivery, budget management, relationship management and leadership. While most programmes and projects will be highly complex, the size, scope, and complexity will vary based on the client engagements.
The Senior Manager will act as a point of contact and escalation point for senior partner, client, and internal stakeholders for programmes within their remit. They will support Regional Consulting Leaders in creating the Centre of Excellence (COE) strategy and driving the achievement of all contractually agreed projects within scope and agreed upon quality thresholds.
Key Accountabilities
What you’ll be doing:
Delivery
* Accountable to deliver complex technology implementation, optimisation, diagnostic, and technology strategy projects, including (but not limited to): overall project management, process design, functional and technical design, business requirements, test planning, data migration strategy, test planning, hyper‑care strategy, and knowledge transfer
* Lead technology workstream on diagnostics, roadmap, and outsourcing engagements. This will include developing findings and recommendations, performing market reviews, and creating project plans
* Create and lead talent technology strategy and design workshops
* Prepares and presents design playback and recommendations with key senior client stakeholders and technology vendor partners
* Able to advise on both functional and technical integration capabilities of custom and bespoke solutions
* Owns, designs, and drives technology partner, client programme, and project relationships and governance
* Develops Steering Committee and monthly/quarterly business review briefing material and ensures all key stakeholders will participate in live sessions as well as ensures regular and relevant communication
* Leads Change Control procedures, including working with colleagues and technology partners to quantify impact of any proposed change in scope
* Takes accountability to document risks, issues, actions, and decisions and partners with clients, technology partners, and internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and resolve issues
* Accountable for sub‑contractor or other external partnerships within remit
Team Leadership
* Effective communication of the commercial and people strategy and how this supports the wider AMS and technology advisory strategy
* Develop and mentor AMS talent for the future through robust hiring, driving performance management and continuous improvement, and by creating an inclusive and engaging workplace culture
* Leadership of managers and individuals in direct reporting line or supporting projects.
* Conducts resource management, capacity planning, and forecasting—ensuring all team members are maintaining project status updates and forecasting
* Accountable for issue resolution, supporting Managers and Consultants to resolve at the appropriate level
* Ensures team members have current technology certifications and develops upskilling and training courses to support ongoing evolution of the team
Relationships
* Build strong and influential trusted partner relationships with identified senior client and technology partner stakeholders (director/VP level or above) to develop and maintain business plans and organisational structures
* Lead MBRs and QBRs in partnership with the Technology Advisory Regional Leader
* Create and work with team members to document standard procedures and ways of working, taking accountability for toolkits and templates
* Lead multiple engagement and development efforts within and across the technology advisory teams
Growth
* Creates review, understand, and apply contractual documentation (SOWs and SCRA’s)
* Develop and scope technology advisory proposals, inclusive of defining activities, timelines, resource requirements, and costs as well as writing proposals and presentations
* Own driving change requests with clients and technology partners
* Accountable for accurate project pricing and forecasting and developing other team members on their commercial acumen and management to scope
Skills & Experience
You’ll need to demonstrate:
Must haves
* Experience leading talent technology implementations, transformations, outsourcing, or change projects as part of a consulting or outsourced professional service engagement
* Experience preparing content for and presenting to C‑suite level stakeholders
* Strong working knowledge of the talent acquisition technology landscape and talent acquisition services, including knowledge of future trends in our industry (such as robotics and artificial intelligence)
* Management of others through a matrixed environment and using subject matter experts as appropriate to deliver projects
* Demonstrated ability to create toolkits and establish project delivery methodologies relevant to the project type
* Experience leading project teams and client relationships
* Experience in leading projects using more than one project delivery methodology and leveraging tools that include Microsoft Project, Visio, Teams, Smartsheet, and JIRA (or equivalent)
* Experience working with global/multi‑geographical teams and stakeholders
* Experience in successful performance management to drive operational excellence
* Process analysis and process re‑engineering expertise
* Ability to direct others as well as self in working to tight deadlines, supporting multiple deliverables and activities at any point in time
* Ability to accurately forecast a wide range of projects on the basis of NFI, resource allocation, and timelines
* Ability to influence and obtain agreement on key decisions with senior leaders across multiple functional areas
Nice to haves
* Experience of responding to Requests for Proposal (RFP) and producing sales collateral
* Understanding of legislation affecting area of work (e.g. GDPR, compliance elements for contractors, EEO, etc.)
* Experience in designing future state talent technology ecosystems
* Demonstrated capability to manage a P&L
* Demonstrable, deep understanding of total talent solutions
* Deep knowledge of multiple talent acquisition technologies
