Recovery Worker

Location: Kendal, Cumbria

Salary: £24,570 per annum

Hours: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

You're caring, flexible, and creative. You thrive under pressure, know how to connect with people at all levels, and enjoy helping others to live as independently as possible. You'd also like to be part of an organization that values professionalism, insight, expertise, and passion to inspire individual recovery. Welcome to Waythrough's Chapel View as a Recovery Worker.

Chapel View is a mental health, supported housing, and community-based service operating on a recovery model. We support people with mental ill health to access local community services, including outreach, peer support, and supported housing. We have been serving the area for several years, offering a staffed service to residents aged 18 and above.

We understand that recovery looks different for everyone. With the right support at the right time, recovery is possible for all. As a Recovery Worker, you will help and inspire service users to maintain their tenancy and independence, working with them to develop personalized support plans to achieve their goals, whether developing domestic and financial skills or accessing work, leisure, or educational opportunities.

No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided. Candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience are welcomed. More importantly, you should have a caring and compassionate nature, empathy, enthusiasm, and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team. You must be willing to participate in a weekly rota and be available for on-call duties.

We are committed to increasing diversity and welcome applications from those with lived experience and from Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic groups.

This is a rolling recruitment process. Candidates will be interviewed as shortlisted.

We value learning and development, offering a wide range of apprenticeships. Anyone in a permanent role who has passed probation can apply for relevant apprenticeships.

Waythrough was launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship (RF). Aquarius, a subsidiary supporting people affected by substance use or gambling, is now part of Waythrough.

We specialize in mental health, alcohol, drugs, and related areas, providing high-quality, evidence-based services tailored to individual needs. Our vision is to break down barriers to support and help people live fulfilling lives.
