 
        A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Lieutenant – Flying Pilot (Any) – to serve as Qualified Flying Instructor at MASUAS, RAF Woodvale on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 20 April 2026. 6 FTS is the largest and most diverse military flying training school in the country. From its HQ at RAFC Cranwell, the school manages a broad range of flying tasks, from Elementary Flying training on University Air Squadrons to the provision of Air Experience Flying (AEF) for the Air Cadet Organisation. Responsibilities include: Committed to promoting and developing equality, diversity and inclusion and be familiar with Core Values and the Defence Diversity and Inclusion Strategy Undergo training and maintain currency for the following but not limited to: Flying Supervisors Course; Human Factors / Error Management; Aviation Medicine Training Wing; Defence Train the Trainer Course. Provide air experience flying for cadets of the Air Training Corps and Combined Cadet Force (RAF); and flying experience, including elementary flying instruction, for undergraduate members of UAS. Recruit and supervise a cadre of AEF volunteer pilots. Conduct instructional and standardisation sorties for AEF volunteer pilots. You may be required to attend 115 Sqn, at RAF Wittering, refresher training and, during your employment, you may be required to attend Standards Flight (RAF Wittering) annually for routine flying standardisation. Undergo training and maintain currency for the following : Force Protection Individual Readiness Training, RAF Fitness Test, Flying Supervisors Course; Human Factors / Error Management; Aviation Medicine Training Wing; Defence Train the Trainer; and, if required, attend the Short Interview Technique Course. Maintain QFI instructional skills, with the opportunity to teach the Tutor EFT syllabus to UAS members. Operate during a Monday-Friday working week.
