Job Description
The Environment Agency creates better places for people, wildlife, and the environment. We put the climate emergency at the heart of everything we do and help society adapt to environmental challenges like flooding, drought, sea level rise and coastal change. Our asset management business system includes carbon management to meet our corporate objective of becoming a Net Zero Carbon organisation. Carbon management is being fully embedded in both the delivery of our infrastructure programme and in our management of assets.
The carbon management process is supported by existing and developing carbon tools that enable construction projects and suppliers to meet mandatory carbon assessment requirements. These tools allow EA to produce a carbon footprint for all assets that need to be reduced over time. The Asset Management Business Systems Team supports all EA teams and suppliers in using these carbon tools and ensures they become a core asset‑management system operating with other AMBST supported tools for the infrastructure programme and asset management.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting EA and external users of operational carbon tools
* Managing and delivering a range of services to users of carbon tools
* Agreeing and maintaining services with a range of user groups

* Planning and managing user activities in the implementation of carbon‑tool changes and improvements
* Managing the resources and funding for carbon‑tool support and maintenance
* Working with operational carbon communities and national leads as required
* Collaborating with IT suppliers and within EA, including FCRM, Operations teams, Defra’s Digital, Data and Technology Services, local authorities, water companies, IDBs, and the civil engineering supply chain
Qualifications
* Experience in asset management and/or infrastructure business processes
* Experience in digital tool development or user implementation services
* Experience in developing training and documentation
* Knowledge and skills in stakeholder engagement and effective communication
* Ability to analyse, evaluate and implement improved ways of working
* Ability to take decisions and solve complex business problems
* A strong focus on efficiency, innovation and quality
