Field based in North of the UK, or Scotland. £400 gross per month car allowance and a fuel card for business travel only. The successful candidate may be required to travel to various locations, including but not limited to: Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Halifax, York, and Edinburgh. A full UK driving licence is required
About the Role
We're looking for a Technical Consultant to join our Delivery and Support team. In this role, you'll provide expert consultancy, technical delivery, and ongoing support for our software and infrastructure solutions. From pre-sales through to implementation and beyond, you'll play a key part in ensuring customers get the most out of our technology.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide technical consultancy for customer projects, including infrastructure design and solution delivery.
2. Support pre-sales activities with detailed technical input and advice.
3. Perform system installations, upgrades, and maintenance - both remotely and on customer sites.
4. Assist in resolving escalated support tickets and identify ways to improve operational efficiency.
5. Plan and implement installations, upgrades, and migrations.
6. Produce high-quality documentation for internal and customer use.
7. Deliver projects to agreed timescales, maintaining regular communication with customers.
8. Evaluate and test new technologies (including Azure-based solutions).
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
9. GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above (required)
10. Degree in a relevant subject (preferred)
11. Microsoft Certified (Associate/Professional), MCSA, Linux LPIC-1 (all advantageous)
Experience:
12. Background in field-based or customer-facing support roles
13. Experience supporting medium to large enterprise environments
14. Familiarity with ITIL-aligned environments
15. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
Technical Skills:
16. Windows Server (2012-2025), Microsoft 365, Azure
17. Linux OS knowledge
18. Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Firewalls, Routing
19. Virtualisation: Hyper-V, VMware, Nutanix
20. Remote Desktop Services, Azure Virtual Desktop
21. Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server
22. Storage solutions (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, Fibre Channel)
