Overview:
As an LAC Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of children in the care system. You will work with children of various ages and academic levels, providing one-on-one tutoring sessions to help them excel academically. Your goal will be to foster a love for learning, boost their confidence, and ensure they have the educational support needed to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one sessions to children in foster care.
* Create personalized learning plans based on each child's educational needs and goals.
* Monitor and track the progress of each child and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly.
* Collaborate with teachers, social workers, and caregivers to ensure a cohesive support system for each child.
* Offer emotional support and encouragement to help children overcome educational barriers.
* Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.
You will need:
* Qualified Teacher Status, a Certificate in Education, or extensive classroom experience.
* Experience working with children in foster care, or with SEN or SEMH.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
* Ability to adapt tutoring strategies to meet the unique needs of each child.
* Knowledge of the UK educational system and curriculum.
Additional information:
* This is a part-time position with flexible hours up to 25 hours per week.
* Successful candidates will need to undergo background checks and provide references.
* Opportunities for CPD.
* Hourly rate of £25-£35 per hour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available later.
