Facilities Support Services Team Supervisor

We are looking for a full‑time Facilities Support Services Supervisor to join the Trust, providing strong operational oversight and a passion for people development. The role requires a proactive mindset, anticipation of challenges, and continuous improvement across services.
The successful candidate will mentor and coach team members, be a hands‑on leader visible on the floor, and drive service delivery with a customer‑focused approach.

This full‑time role is 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, 08.00 to 16.00). Flexible working may be required to cover service needs and additional hours may be available for annual leave and sickness absence.

Main duties of the job
* Provide an effective, patient‑focused Facilities Service (FM) aligned with the agreed service portfolio.
* Cleaning – Periodic MIU, Theatre, Endoscopy and site cleans, post‑outbreak deep cleans, meeting NHS Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness.
* Removals – Ensure items for recycling are stored and advertised on the Trust’s recycling platform (Warpit), and items for disposal are segregated and disposed of according to Trust policies.
* Maintain a flexible approach, providing hands‑on support to staff across all disciplines as required, including operation of cleaning equipment and manual handling of loads.
* Supervise the Facilities Support Service Team, ensuring work meets required standards and Trust policies.
* Support monitoring of service performance, resolve day‑to‑day operational issues, and maintain accurate records for health and safety, risk assessments, infection prevention & control and other regulatory requirements.

Person Specification
Knowledge, skills and training
* Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant area, plus additional knowledge and/or experience acquired through training and experience in a similar role.
Job specific experience
* Previous experience working within a comparable role.
* Understanding of COSHH.
* Experience in supervision of staff.
Managerial/supervisory experience
* Proven experience of managing/supervising teams.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload.
* Ability to work on own initiative without supervision.
* Good IT skills in Word and Excel.
* Full clean driving licence.
