HVAC Engineer – Doncaster, England
CBRE is the global leader in real estate services and is recruiting a skilled HVAC Engineer to join our Global Workplace Solutions team located in Doncaster. The successful candidate will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant, equipment, and building services.
Role Summary
* Identify and manage risks to the client through the equipment on site, including identifying critical spares, improving performance of plant and equipment, managing environmental conditions via the BMS system, and running all plant and equipment efficiently while improving and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
* Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working and comfortable environment, liaising with the client on reactive and PPM tasks.
* Fault‑find all types of HVAC plant and equipment, with a bias toward Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning systems. Work with refrigerant and hold the necessary qualifications for handling F‑Gas.
* Support the team in Health and Safety matters.
* Act as Energy Champion and assist as Safety Champion for the site.
* Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
* Write and follow risk assessments and question any arising safety issues accurately.
* Complete required documentation in compliance with all rules and legislation.
* Use mobile devices to accurately project and complete works via the CAFM Maintenance System.
* Plan daily work using email/calendar to ensure efficient task completion.
* Liaise with on‑site supervisor and account manager to manage building services issues, responding confidently and accurately.
* Serve as responsible person for the team and deputise for the site supervisor during annual leave or sickness.
* Work overtime as required by the business, including nights and weekends with potentially short notice.
* Perform ad‑hoc duties as needed.
* Supervise and manage subcontractors.
* Participate on an on‑call rota for emergency call‑out outside normal working hours.
Experience Required
* A Recognised or Time‐Served Apprenticeship.
* Strong proven experience in HVAC maintenance.
* Acceptable standard mechanical competences/qualifications to City and Guilds Mechanical.
* Good multi‑skilled ability.
* Ability to fault‑find.
* Ability to supervise contractors.
* Ability to complete risk assessments and method statements.
* Ability to understand and write permits and safe systems of work.
* F‑Gas safe handling and refrigerant use.
Desirable
* Working at Height qualification.
* IPAF / PASMA certification.
* AP qualifications.
* BMS system experience.
* HVAC controls expertise.
