Role Overview
Graduate Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our specialist VT consultancy team in London. The role involves supporting the planning, design, and delivery of lift and escalator systems on high‑profile developments, working across the project lifecycle with experienced consultants.
Day‑to‑Day Activities
* Assist with vertical transportation strategies for new and existing buildings
* Support traffic analysis and performance modelling for lift systems
* Help prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications
* Coordinate with architects, fire engineers, and building services teams
* Assess compliance with relevant standards and guidance
* Attend site inspections, condition surveys, and client meetings
* Contribute to refurbishment, modernisation, and lifecycle planning studies
Graduate Development Programme

Essential Qualifications
* Completion of the application form and any required skill assessment
* Graduation or current study in a relevant engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or similar)
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Interest in the built environment and complex building systems
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of lift, escalator or people‑movement systems
* Awareness of UK building regulations or British/European Standards
* Interest in accessibility, fire safety or sustainability
* Proficiency in Excel and technical report writing
* Intent to start work in September 2026
* Passion for Buildings Specialists services and the future of the built world
* Understanding of engineering or construction design processes
* Curiosity about new technologies and their application to real‑world problems
* Enthusiasm for creativity and problem solving
