Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for financial integrity and strategic impact? If so we'd love to hear from you as we are recruiting for a Group Financial Accountant on a 9 month fixed term contract to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our charity.
You will ideally be based within an hours commute of our head office in Widnes as you will be required to attend the office at least once a week.

As our Group Financial Accountant, you'll be the cornerstone of our financial reporting and compliance. You'll lead the preparation of statutory accounts, manage group consolidations, and ensure our financial controls are robust and future-ready. This is a high-impact role that collaborates across departments to drive best practice and deliver a sector-leading Finance Centre of Excellence.
**Day to Day (list not exhaustive see attached job description)****
* Prepare accurate and timely statutory financial reports in line with SORP and regulatory standards.
* Lead group and subsidiary account consolidations, eliminating intercompany transactions.
* Oversee fixed asset accounting and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
* Implement audit recommendations and maintain internal control documentation (CRSA).
* Submit key financial data to HMRC, ONS, CQC, and other statutory bodies.
* Provide clear, insightful financial analysis to support decision-making across the organisation.
* Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes and systems.
Our ideal Candidate
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
* ACA or ACCA qualified or part qualified (or finalist).
* Proven experience in financial accounting, audit, and group reporting—ideally within the charity sector.
* Experience in complex reporting environments.
* Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and Excel proficiency.
* Ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
