1) Treasurer / Finance TrusteeCompany Description
Living Well Insights is a new health equity charity in formation and the charitable arm of Global Villaje Media. We are focused on improving health literacy, tackling health inequalities and promoting quality, culturally competent health, with a particular emphasis on health issues that disproportionately affect Black communities in the UK and across Africa.
Our work will combine trusted health information, community voice and health advocacy. We aim to create accessible health education, community-led conversations and practical partnerships that help people better understand their health, navigate services and push for fairer outcomes.
As a new charity, we are building our founding board and looking for trustees who want to help shape a values-led, community-rooted organisation from the ground up.
Role Description
We are seeking a Treasurer / Finance Trustee to join the founding board of Living Well Insights.
This role will help ensure the charity is built on strong, transparent and sustainable financial foundations. As Treasurer / Finance Trustee, you will work with fellow trustees and the Director / General Manager to provide oversight of budgets, financial planning, cashflow, reporting and financial risk.
You will help the board understand key financial issues clearly and support good decision-making as the charity moves through registration, early delivery and fundraising. This is a strategic governance role rather than an operational finance position.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing strategic oversight of the charity’s financial position
* Reviewing budgets, management accounts and financial forecasts
* Helping the board understand financial risks and opportunities
* Supporting the development of sound financial controls and reporting
* Working with the board to ensure strong stewardship, accountability and long-term sustainability
This is a voluntary trustee role with approximately 4–6 board meetings per year, mostly online. Reasonable expenses can be reimbursed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who can bring:
* Experience in finance, accounting or financial management, for example as a finance manager, accountant, finance director or similar
* Confidence reviewing management accounts, cashflow forecasts and annual accounts
* Ability to explain financial matters in clear, accessible language to non-finance colleagues
* Good judgement, integrity and a collaborative approach
* Commitment to health equity, anti-racism and community-led work
* Alignment with our focus on health issues that disproportionately affect Black communities in the UK and across Africa
Charity finance experience would be valuable, including familiarity with restricted and unrestricted income, funder reporting and reserves, but it is not essential if you are willing to learn quickly with support.
2) Community / African Health TrusteeCompany Description
Living Well Insights is a new health equity charity in formation and the charitable arm of Global Villaje Media. We are focused on improving health literacy, tackling health inequalities and promoting quality, culturally competent health, with a particular emphasis on health issues that disproportionately affect Black communities in the UK and across Africa.

As a new charity, we are building our founding board and looking for trustees who want to help shape a values-led, community-rooted organisation from the ground up.
Role Description
We are seeking a Community / African Health Trustee to join the founding board of Living Well Insights.
This role is vital in helping ensure the board remains strongly rooted in the realities of the communities we serve. We are looking for someone who can bring community insight, lived understanding and, ideally, experience connected to Black health in the UK, across Africa or across the diaspora.
As a trustee, you will contribute to strategic conversations about health literacy, health inequalities, community engagement and advocacy. You will help keep our work grounded, relevant and accountable, and bring perspective on how health issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, sickle cell, maternal health, mental health and dementia show up in real life.
This is a governance role, but we are especially keen to hear from people whose strength is not formal board experience, but real connection, credibility and commitment. Support and induction can be provided for first-time trustees.
This is a voluntary trustee role with approximately 4–6 board meetings per year, mostly online. Reasonable expenses can be reimbursed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who can bring:
* Deep connection to Black communities in the UK, African countries and/or across the diaspora
* Lived experience, community leadership or frontline experience related to health inequalities
* Insight into how health inequalities affect people in practice
* Passion for amplifying community voice and challenging unfairness in the health system
* Confidence to contribute perspective and lived insight at board level
* Commitment to health equity, anti-racism and community-led work
Experience in community health, public health, advocacy, grassroots organising or related fields would be valuable, but formal titles are less important than genuine connection, credibility and commitment.
