The role exists to ensure that all products meet the quality requirements of the customer and the organisation and, as a hands-on mechanical inspector, you will be responsible for executing general inspection functions both visual and dimensional, including correctly and properly using mechanical measuring devices and reporting results.
Responsibilities of this position include;
· Perform complete inspections to engineering drawings.
· Conduct measurements using precision instruments such as micrometres, vernier callipers, dial test indicators.
· Locate datum’s on parts and measure dimensions such as angle, arc and radii using a combination of aids such as parallel bars, gauge blocks, v blocks, sine bars and precision measuring instruments.
· Visually compare work pieces against one another to assess in process manufacturing variations.
· Report quality problems or findings and follow up to ensure corrective action has been put in place.
· Interact with different departments to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate acceptance of parts.
