Job Summary
The position is focused on building and operating the company Export Consol Program. By doing so, it aims to improve our buying power and ultimately the profitability of the company. Alongside profitability, we expect to enhance the customer service provided to our clients. You will also be involved in customs clearances, quotes, arranging shipments, and associated documentation, with a focus on consolidating shipments where possible, flight tracking, cost approval, invoicing, rate negotiation, and other related functions. The individual should be prepared to engage in multi-modal activities as required and provide support to the supervisor during holiday and absence periods.
Key Activities
* Maintain contact with partners, airlines, and other suppliers to foster relationships.
* Cost control and rate negotiation.
* Understand and, in some cases, complete end-to-end forwarding activities as required by the role.
* Focus on communication between the office and warehouse.
* Improve processes and customer service.
* Follow strict and time-sensitive SOPs/KPIs to ensure compliance.
* Work closely with internal and external customers.
* Utilize CargoWise and MS Office applications as requested.
* Ensure invoicing and job costing are updated within the required timeframe.
* Maintain month-end departmental compliance.
* Handle customs entries and MUCR closures.
* Assist supervisors and line managers as required.
* Complete all reports, including internal and customer-specific, within deadlines.
* Resolve queries from customers and suppliers.
* Adopt best practice models.
* Collaborate with the line manager on internal and external rate reviews.
* Assist sales and management with consolidation development.
* Operate within the company's QA system.
* Ensure compliance with customs and health & safety regulations.
* Perform any other tasks as directed by supervisors or line managers.
Technical Experience
* Proficient in PC applications, especially Excel and Word.
* Educated to GCSE/O level standard or equivalent.
* Good knowledge of customs clearance procedures.
* Strong operational knowledge.
* High level of customer service skills.

The salary will be up to £38K depending on experience. Working hours are approximately 10:30 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required.
