Do you have a passion for young people’s mental health? Do you thrive in multi-disciplinary settings where psychological skills are highly valued?
Working in a very friendly and dynamic CAMHS Service, we have an exciting full-time opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist based mainly in our Buxton Core CAMHS Team. We are happy to consider flexible options.
You will support our psychological therapies pathways, most likely in our DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) or CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) Team, depending on service needs.
You will also support the service in transforming our ROMs (Routine Outcome Measures) delivery or supporting our existing clinical supervision programme, depending on service needs. There are opportunities for indirect working (e.g., consultation).
Our Service comprises 10 teams with excellent track records of working closely together, offering opportunities to gain diverse experiences and develop your portfolio. Our internal training programme for staff is highly rated, and clinical supervision is valued. We celebrate the diversity of our clinicians and the skill sets they bring.
While this is an 8a post, we welcome applications from soon-to-be or newly qualified Clinical Psychologists in a preceptorship role, with a structured development plan and regular support. We have strong links with training courses and regularly host trainees on placement.
As a Clinical Psychologist in Core CAMHS, You Will:
* Provide specialist psychological/therapy-based assessments, formulations, and interventions for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
* Play a pivotal role in supporting our Service, either by improving our Routine Outcome Measures delivery or supporting our Clinical Supervision Programme, based on service needs.
* Be client-centred and goal-focused, championing ROMs and contributing to service development.
* Empower and support young people on their journey to recovery.
* Offer clinical advice, support, consultations, supervision, and training for professionals within our CAMHS Service.
* Contribute actively to a multi-disciplinary team and to service and team developments.
* Participate in case discussions and adopt a ‘care team’ approach to formulation.
The NHS principles underpin our “Leading the Chesterfield Way” and our Proud to CARE values, emphasizing care, openness, integrity, and inclusivity. We support work-life balance with flexibility and wellbeing initiatives. This role is vital to us, and we look forward to your application.
Located in the beautiful Peak District in Buxton, this post offers a fantastic setting with circular walks, parks, spa facilities, shops, cafes, and impressive architecture.
Opportunities may also arise to work at our other bases in Chesterfield: at our hospital on a greenfield site with scenic views or at our newer CAMHS base near Chesterfield train station and town centre.
