As a MOT Tester working at Mercedes Benz in Chesterfield, you will be responsible for ensuring that all MOTs and tyre fittings, along with maintenance work, are completed to exemplary standards on a diverse range of models across this market‑leading brand.
Responsibilities
* Accurately and skilfully undertake the MOT of motor vehicles, ensuring that every job meets the required standards, including the completion of any administrative processes.
* Complete detailed reports and documentation for each vehicle, including any identified defects or failures, and communicate the results to customers or the service team.
* Evaluate vehicles against specific criteria such as structural integrity, emission levels, lighting, brakes, steering, suspension and other safety‑related components.
* Follow standardised test procedures and protocols to carry out MOT tests accurately and efficiently.
* Evaluate the condition of every vehicle on which work is performed and, where necessary, report and document all additional work required on both systems and job cards.
* Fully explain to customers what is required for a technical repair in language they understand.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with company, brand, and industry guidelines.
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a qualified nominated MOT tester qualified by the DVSA is essential.
* Brand accreditation would be beneficial but not essential; brand training will be provided.
* A customer‑centric approach, always striving to deliver service above customer expectations.
* An enthusiastic and optimistic manner, taking responsibility for your actions and decisions.
* An organised and methodical approach to problem solving.
* Clear communication when advising customers on technical issues.
* A driving licence free from excessive penalties is essential.
