A vibrant secondary school in the heart of Redbridge is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Music Teacher from September for a full-time, long-term position. The school values creativity, performance, and cultural appreciation—qualities that are embedded across its Music department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated teacher who can inspire a love of music across genres and skill levels. You’ll be teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to deliver A-Level content for the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based Music lessons to a diverse student body
2. Teaching performance, composition, and music appreciation in line with national curriculum expectations
3. Preparing students for GCSE Music and encouraging extracurricular participation in ensembles, choirs, and performances
4. Using a range of resources and instruments to support inclusive, accessible music education
5. Inspiring students to develop musical confidence and creativity both in and out of the classroom
6. Contributing to the school’s performing arts programme through concerts, productions, or clubs
Ideal Candidate Profile:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Experience teaching Music at secondary level in the UK
9. A broad knowledge of musical styles, history, and current curriculum requirements
10. Skilled in using music technology and classroom instruments
11. Confident leading ensembles or choirs and promoting performance opportunities
12. Passionate about fostering a love of music and the arts in young people
