Pre-pull Engineer – Newbury
Location: Newbury, Oxford
Compensation: £30,100 - £34,000 per annum
Employment type: Full time (Monday to Friday, 45 hours a week, with rotating Saturdays as overtime)

Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Field Manager, the pre‑pull engineer will install and service overhead and underground cabling using Openreach PIA and Netomnia specific network. The role aims to deliver right‑first‑time installs while maintaining excellent customer service and timely system updates.
Key Responsibilities
* Primarily work on customer installation pre‑pulls, occasionally assisting FND with overhead and underground cabling and CBT installation.
* Manage the tools issued and the vehicle assigned to you as per our vehicle policy.
* Complete assigned activities on time and manage day‑to‑day jobs.
* Complete minor civil works required on customer boundaries, including blockage clearances.
* Install customer lead‑in from Netomnia built network.
* Run cables from the Netomnia CBT (both overhead and underground) to the customer property to a high‑quality standard while following H&S best practice.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience working in a similar role on or for the Openreach Network.
* Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, emphasizing Health and Safety practices.
* Demonstrable experience and a proven track record in a networking engineering environment (preferred).
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Clear and concise communication abilities.
* Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
* Ability to foster excellent working relationships with teammates, managers, and other teams, maintaining a strong customer service attitude.
* A proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.
Requirements
* Must hold a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.
* SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent.
* IPAF 1b.
* Full NRSWA operator’s licence (excluding Hot lay).
* SMART AWARDS preferable.
* Telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
