In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales.
As Stress Engineer, you will provide analytical guidance in structural and occupant injury simulation, working closely with other functions such as Design, Certification and Production to ensure that seating products are lightweight, durable and safe throughout their working life.

Responsibilities
* Plan and manage own stress activities and a limited number of others for a specific programme.
* Manage self and provide technical support to junior stress engineers to ensure tasks are completed on time, within cost and quality requirements.
* Identify certification test failure risk, ensure it is managed effectively and minimised using appropriate analytical methods and judgement.
* Prepare, review and approve hand calculations and FE models (linear static, non‑linear, crash, multi‑body dynamic, optimisation) for seating products to support the design and certification process, and in‑service life.
* Identify structural design issues and recommend improvements and alternate solutions.
* Support root cause analysis (e.g., 8D/Ishikawa).
Qualifications & Knowledge
* Preferably a working knowledge of regulations FAR/CS 25‑561, EASA Part 21 J, ARP 5526 and Airframe specifications.
* Provide expertise in continuous improvement of department processes, methods and manuals.
* Be innovative in problem‑solving, ensuring ideas are evaluated and investigated to conclusion.
