What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Learning Coordinator to support and deliver the learning and engagement programme at the National Library of Scotland. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with learners within a cultural heritage setting, with a particular passion for working with schools and families. You’ll be a team player, whilst also being able to work independently under your own initiative. As a multi-tasker, you will be required to perform a range of duties from creative planning to hands-on delivery, administration to evaluation. This role is crucial to the effective delivery of the Library’s learning programme.
What we can offer you:
If you are successful, you will be working for one of Scotland’s premier cultural institutions, a library that holds the nation’s memory in its vast collections. We’ll provide you with training and development opportunities. We have generous annual leave and offer a pension scheme. And of course, you’ll join a team of great colleagues.
Duties include:
· To work with the Learning and Outreach Officer to programme, plan and deliver a varied learning programme for formal and informal learners.
· To coordinate and deliver designated programme strands, particularly for young audiences, including schools and families. This will involve collaborating with internal colleagues, partners, and guest contributors; consulting with relevant audiences including school librarians, teachers and young people; coordinating staff resource and supervising freelancers as required for effective programme delivery; and scheduling and coordinating programme logistics, resources and materials with guidance from the Learning and Outreach Officer.
· To apply research, interpretation, and production skills to the design of high-quality learning programmes and associated content, centred around the National Library’s unique heritage collections. This will include navigating the National Library’s catalogue and carrying out collections-based research.
· To carry out programme evaluation, reporting, and audience research to inform learning activity.
· To produce programme listings and communications, working with colleagues in the Marketing Team and Digital Engagement Team to ensure the effective promotion of leaning activities via various networks, channels, and platforms. xsngvjr
