We have a vacancy for a Children's Residential Support Worker in our Walkden, Salford service to be part of our experienced team. You will work in a caring home environment with the wider team under the leadership of the Registered Manager, nurturing and supporting the young people, providing them with care, love and support as if it were their family home.

The hours are 37.5 per week worked over 5 shifts on a rota system which includes weekend working. The annual salary for this role is £24,700.00 (£12.67 per hour) per year plus biennial increments. Additional enhancements include weekends paid at a 25% premium on the hourly rate and sleep‑in payments of £100.80 per sleep.
Responsibilities
* Provide a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people.
* Maximise educational opportunities and achievements for the young people by assisting in identifying, establishing and supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews.
* Undertake direct work that is designed to meet the young people's needs as identified within the care plan, enabling them to reach their full potential. Supporting the young people’s significant relationships will be part of this task.
* Under close supervision take responsibility for key working with at least one young person.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of the work undertaken with the young people and complete written reports for planning meetings and statutory reviews as necessary.
* Support young people with their individual personal care needs, including full reliance to change continence pads, assist with full body and hair wash, and dressing, or encouraging them to be as independent as possible.
* Undertake a range of domestic duties, including cooking and some cleaning, to a good standard, to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and the guidelines for young people and staff.
Qualifications
* Experience of working in a residential setting, undertaking the full range of duties in a well‑planned way that respects and values the young people as individuals.
* Flexibility to respond to the needs of the unit and young people.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to write reports.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining and encouraging open and honest communication.
* If you do not have direct experience of working with children you may have transferable skills to bring to the role.
