English Teacher – SEMH Alternative Provision

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient English Teacher to join a specialist SEMH Alternative Provision in Maidenbower. This role involves delivering engaging English lessons to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, within a supportive, structured, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual needs
* Support students with SEMH and additional learning needs
* Differentiate learning to ensure accessibility and progress for all learners
* Manage behaviour using calm, consistent and positive approaches
* Track and monitor student progress and attainment
* Work closely with support staff, leadership, and external agencies
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Ideal Candidate
* QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience working within SEMH or alternative provision settings (desirable)
* Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
* Ability to engage and motivate disengaged learners
* A calm, patient and resilient approach
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
